interview was very good. related so much to being raised as an army brat and moving every 2-3 years and being super sheltered. so much respect for what they’re doing. this is an important record.
I’m at a Courtney Barnett/Snail Mail show right now. And I’m going to see a Cure tribute band later tonight. Both shows for free. Good use of my night!
That Oso record synced up perfectly for the first day that feels like we're transitioning into fall. D:
I wasn’t even going to listen to the Oso Oso record cause I didn’t love the last one and really wasn’t into their live show w/ The Hotelier in 2017, but I saw so much hype for this one and then it got that BNM so I had to. It’s pretty good! Gonna go back to Yunahon sometime soon and see if I feel differently about it. Still, so strange that this was the record that broke the emo barrier at Pitchfork (or, at least, the Ian Cohen-core emo barrier). #Justice4Goodness
Yunahon is a major grower. I still like it better than this one as of right now but that might change with time.
Tried catching up with new music and 100gecs gave me a near aneurism lmao. It’s like they took the worst parts/cliches of every genre and blended into something resembling either the destruction of music or a complete breakthrough. Either way, not for me. Empty Country and Fake It both sounding really great though. Whats another good twinkly/post-rocky band i should check out (can be either aggressive or melodic)?
Listening to 100 gecs rn. Some of the weirdest shit I have ever heard and it kinda slaps Twinkle lights took my soul
My thoughts exactly. It's very good and I like it quite a bit, but it seems like an...arbitrary choice for rare emo BNM
Singers of Lemuria, Chumped/Katie Ellen, and Cayetana teaming up for an EP. Edit: just noticed this was released like two weeks ago while I was on vacation, so sorry if it’s been posted already. Still, it’s so good
throwing this here, it's different but I love it. GFP has never steered me wrong. New Music: ghost orchard - honeymoon
