How did you find out about them?? Always shocked when people post CT/MA bands I see all the time in here
The Lakes record is great. Didn’t come to mind when they released the single in June but they remind me a ton of Adjy and I love that
I got a weird blank 45 in the mail that came in a plain white mailer with no indication of where it came from. return address was just my address again. the vocals on the songs kinda sound like Adrianne Lenker from Big Thief, similar twinkly acoustic vibe. idk I assumed it might have come from one of the emo labels I ordered from once, anyone else get something like this or am i nuts nothing came up on shazam
I've discovered so many good bands lately, thanks to this thread. Now I feel like recommending something of my own. My friends in wlots (formerly What's Left of the Sun) recently signed to Deep Elm Records and released their debut full-lenght, Sempre Più, in June this year. And no, I'm not recommending them just because I know the band – I genuinely think that the album is amazing. If you're short on time I would say that I Hate My Friends is a good song to start with. FFO: La Dispute, Listener, Touché Amoré etc.
British folks (@Jake W ??) any tours happening August 13-23rd? Gonna be in London and Brighton for those days
I'm continuing down the local Swedish band route. Panhandler are an emo-country band (that's what they call it, at least) from Stockholm. I'd say that they've got a fair punk rock influence. Released their debut full length in December last year. Check out Vem Är Du Utan Pengar? (Who Are You Without Money?). The title is in Swedish but the song is sung in English.
I feel like this is probably a one-off for Death Protector fest or something, but I’d scream if it’s more.
someone on RYM described this as jeff rosenstock mixed with brave little abacus and im 100% here for it. what a record.
oh damn lol I thought it might be actually them but I didn't want to get people excited about something if I was wrong
