IMBUE TRMTC FAOT IC TMTMTP LILAC (Lilac hits me more lyrically but the style just isn’t something I reach for as much, I adore them all)
TMTMTP is easily my least favorite TEN album. Some amazing songs in there buried amongst songs that should've been b-sides. But if I made a 10 track playlist it would be a top tier album.
TMTMTP is three separate albums in my mind so I guess that why I don’t really consider it bloated. I would never put on The Mechanic and then act like I didn’t finish it if I didn’t listen to all two hours of the entire release That said, I always kinda forget The Path, which yeah, would be my actual least favorite TEN record
Imbue The Mechanic The Room's Too Cold In Currents The Mother For All Of This Twenty Lilac The Path I really do wish TMTMTP was made into a double disc with all the narrative dialogue stuff cut out. It also still annoys me that the album title isn’t The Mechanic, The Mother, and The Path
I actually love Better This Way and recall liking half the album - but it’s the only TEN album where I don’t love pretty much everything on there (outside of the weird third disc of TMTMTP - which has enough great material across all three discs to be my favorite)
Triple disc mostly sucks. “Decoration” is good and that’s the only song I go back to out of the 326 songs across the whole thing
Decoration is the highlight but there’s plenty more to go back to. No Good at Saying Sorry, Figure it Out, A Little More Time and 1000 Times a Day are the other big ones for me.
The Rest of My Life, This Wasn’t In Our Plan, No Good At Saying Sorry, Long Talks, Outside, Is It My Fault, and A Little More Time. Come on dude.
y’all are wrong about TMTMTP but who cares it’s your loss!! also, Imbue is top 3 without a doubt. it’s everything I wanted a TEN record post-hiatus to be.
My comment was kind of an exaggeration (“exaggeraaaaaaaashhhuuuun!”) A few years ago, I made a single disc version of the album that I listened to quite a bit. But I haven’t gone back to even that in a pretty long time. But moral of the story: there are a handful of other songs I like from that album. But the majority is not for me.
the mechanic is what got me into the band! “make a decision” is still my favorite ten track. the mother is great too. the path is a total skip but i wake up with “guess what” stuck in my head at least twice a week.
The Mother on its own is by far my fav the thing band’s ever done. the rest is just the cherry on top.
The addition of Bill on that release is so welcomed. That solo on Scared To Lose is so buttery. Quite an inspired tone for them at that time too
I havent listened to the Path since it's release and hated it. I wonder if I'd feel different now almost 30 years later
