While they're obviously different stylistically, I think when Early November essentially became a two man band, maybe he didn't feel the need for extra solo output

I think Dust'n Off The Ol' Guitar is pretty underrated, I find it to be really cool and a really unique thing. I think plenty of bands do like, the acoustic album, or stripped back, but this really does feel like Ace took non-Mess songs and turned them into Mess songs. They completely feel like the same style as the first two Mess albums and are really well done. Plus, making the whole release be seamless, it all just flows perfectly

  8. totally agree — it always felt like an extension of the world we know to me in the best way. it's such a rare, beautiful gift.

It’s been a while since I revisited any I Can Make A Mess albums. I remember really liking The World We Know and Gold Rush a lot though.

gold rush is my favorite I think, then world we know, then enola, then the self titled. but those 4 are all top tier lps for me in any genre

That's wild because self titled is definitely my favorite and maybe followed by Growing In which you didn't even list haha

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

doesn't Ace have legitimate problems with reading and writing? feels like we don't need to joke about that

It's funny for that to be the song with the typo because now that's not it's real name.

The joke was obviously targeted on him keeping his commitments, not on his ability to read/write if that’s actually a thing.
