I'm not in love with the sound here but it doesn't overtly bother me either. there wasn't any moments that actively took me out of the moment with their bizarre choices like the chorus of Hit by a Car at least haha
I do think the structure of this is pretty strange, but I also think this benefits from my not being overly familiar with the original takes. I will say I wish pretty pretty was a bit more robust tho. Was very excited for that one
I like this, and will jam on the regular when I’m in the mood for TEN.. I think my one worry from this is, i sort of feel like we are done getting something at the production quality of IMBUE, which is a shame bc I LOVE how that record sounds.
miiight be binging their discog for the first time in a few years. still think "The Truth Is" is one of the most beautiful songs ever made
Maybe you're right, though I'm just used to TEN with more layers, not to mention the era of TRITC and ICMAM's debut with lots of dialogue recordings in the background, samples etc., guess it was quite magical for the time
Over the shoulder and Sand bang. I enjoyed this record a ton, hah. Didn’t expect much from this one honestly, happily surprised. Thanks TEN
got my record yesterday :) this is a fun release I'm glad exists and I'm very happy to have Five Years one of my favorite songs ever on vinyl. I've also been listening to/thinking about Trees a lot. hearing him acoustic like that really feels like classic TEN
working my way slowly through all the demos, man there's a lot. my main thought so far is its crazy the electric Make it Happen didn't make Room's too Cold. it honestly coulda been the lead single lol
It somehow leaked all the way back when the album was out and I've jammed it since then, just such a rocker
I think it’s pretty cool to do this as a release and capture a pretty definitive era for this band. I’d be down to hear other bands do this with songs that didn’t make albums.
Their setlist for this tour looks awesome. I feel like they rarely play this many songs, if ever? The Early November Setlist at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park
