the Walk of the Earth version is pretty terrible, but to be fair the version Ace released isn't that much better haha. Love Ace, but I don't really think this song is as close to the "magic moment" or hit that he may have thought it was
Always wondered if I was insane for holding onto all of this stuff. Now seeing it here laid out in photos from someone else’s life, I can see that I am — but at least I’m not alone lmao
yeah not to rain on the parade but I fucking hated One More Song from the first time I heard it haha. personally glad it never made a TEN record especially. but you know, different strokes.
Didn’t Ace do a whole radio pop album and scrapped it because it was just tooooo much? I think I remember something like that.
That does sound familiar, as a Million Different People album. I wonder how far down that path he actually got
does anyone still have the original full band demo of Make it Happen? I can’t find it anywhere now and I must have lost it at some point.
I believe the pop-sounding album was called HIRAETH. Love Ace and his ability to write pop songs, but love him more when he’s writing the likes of his bellowing bangers
yeah, i don't think it was HIRAETH. there's an entire scrapped album from a few years ago. he was trying to cross over to pop radio, but either he didn't like the songs and bailed, or the record company didn't like it. i thiiiiiink i remember hearing that he sold a song or two from those sessions to other artists. but i'm really not 100% on that.
Jesus. Ace’s voice is gonna be shot every night. 30 minute acoustic set for VIP I can make a mess set TEN set that’s like 2-2.5 hours of singing
The VIP bundle is a pretty great deal. Only $40 more than the regular ticket and you get an extra 30 minute acoustic set. Last year we did VIP for Armor for Sleep, it cost $120 bucks PLUS the cost of a regular ticket just to watch 3 songs at soundcheck
we did the vip for early November a couple years ago on the Lilac tour and it was a truly great experience. He took requests for the acoustic set, and any song from his catalog was fair game. It was so cool
For you vinyl lovers, I'm seeing that the standard black is up for pre order on Amazon and other online shops. Then there's this pink pinwheel at Rough Trade and split color at Creep Records: https://www.roughtrade.com/us/the-early-november/twenty https://shopcreep.com/products/the-early-november-twenty-creep-records-exclusive I snagged the Creep exclusive.
