This is almost the inverse of my ranking but I appreciate the reasoning. Lilac's back half is pretty gut-wrenching stuff. Ace's music has always been this way, but it contains some of his most emotionally vulnerable music. I Dissolve and Make My Bed are kind of crushing. Edit: Also, You Own My Mind. One of their very best songs.
listening to Imbue now, Magnolia rules so hard. the way Ace sings “from the inside out” at the end is
Harmony into Cyanide into I Don’t Care is my. fav stretch on the record and in particular Cyanide is my fav on Imbue to this day, such a banger. edit: throw Nothing Lasts Forever into that stretch, loving it now more than ever
Narrow Mouth, Cyanide, and Nothing Lasts Forever are really the only tracks I care much about on that record. Always loved the drums in the Harmony chorus though — Jeff really channeling some Days Away energy there
I’m giving you a virtual high five because I agree with all of this and also because I’m a HUGE Brian Warren fan so of course I loved The Situation is Excellent
hell yeah The Situation is Excellent is prob my second fav thing Brian’s done behind TCD, tho it’s a bit of a tossup with Follow The Rattle.
Follow The Rattle is most likely my favorite EP of all time. The Swamp Green variant of it that I have is one of my most prized possessions.
I have decided to temporarily interrupt my posting sabbatical to point out Ace’s story, which is a video of Pro Tools open on Ace’s computer, with a clearly re-recorded version of Five Years playing so hello I am hyped put it on a fucking record Ace
Anyone know where I can find the "your sweet uncertainty" album, either CD or digital? Can't find it anywhere
