So many great fall tours.. will have hard decisions to make.. it's sad I'm not getting tickets to this bc in my mind I still need to save money for a brand new tour
It adds up when you think brand new and thrice are doing tours, and then I'm going to two Manchester orchestra dates, kevin devine, menzingers, hotelier.. at some point I have to draw the line lol.. this may or may not be it.
I got American Football, Dashboard/AAR, Touche Amore, Julien Baker and now this so far this fall. Gonna be a good one.
all get out, waxahatchee, etid, mayday parade (uk), nfg (uk), touch amore, the maine. and now I'm considering fly back from England via salt lake or Denver to go to this. pretty sure my wallet hates me
so is the idea at the end of A Bigger Meaning that there was no psychiatrist? that Dean/Ace has just been talking to himself this whole time?
ive been trying to get a better grasp of the actual storyline of that album. im guessing all 3 discs are about Dean with him being the "narrator" in all 3 albums. i figured The Mechanic was him recalling what his dad was like, The Mother recalling his mom, and then The Path is his story and how similar and cyclical his life is compared to his dads.
I think I read an interview once where Ace says the Mechanic is the father's story, then The Mother is the son's, then The Path is what ties them together. I could be remembering wrong. Your interpretation sounds pretty accurate.
Yeah, there's no therapist, only Dean. Hence the pitch effect on the vocals starting to fall apart and just end up being Ace. At least that's how I saw it.
This band is just so phenomenal yet so underrated. It's weird though because they get a lot of praise and respect from some big heavy hitters in our scene like Geoff Rickly, Jim Adkins, even Chris Conley
I think it's funny that FOB opened for TEN back in 2002-2003. By 2007 TEN was supporting FOB on their Infinity On High tour.
Jims said before he really likes their sound and how they use really vintage instruments and tones to make their music. They've toured with Thursday and STD before and Geoffs mentioned them in a couple interviews as being a band he felt were ahead of their peers. Same thing happened with Thursday lol. Pete wanted to open for Thursday since he loved Full Collapse then all of a sudden Geoff opened for FOB one show. MCR had the same thing happen
Some working song titles Needle In My Hand Make My Bed 13 Years You Own With it being a double album, I'm hoping it's another concept album
