think imbue is easily their best post reunion album but overall tmtmtp still tops their discog for me. then imbue is about tied with room
I'd take All Of This and Room over anything else in their discography, BUT I love all of it (except the majority of the triple disc)
I wish I loved For All Of This as much as everyone else seems to, but I just feel like everything on Room is better
I really need to give Imbue a fair shot...I loved In Currents but for whatever reason, never really put too much time into listening to Imbue.
They were talking about LP4 back in late 2013 and it didn't get released until mid 2015. But needless to say, I am surprised!
"Nothing Lasts Forever" is probably my most wanted live song though ugh. I'd be over the moon for LP5 (obviously) but I do hope we eventually get more Imbue cuts. there's a few from IC I'd die to see too (Call Off The Bells!!!!!)
Live most wanted: The Truth Is The Car In 20 This Wasn't In Our Plan The One That You Hated Wearing The Tie Cyanide Harmony Magnolia Nothing Lasts Forever The Negatives Basically like anything I haven't seen live or that hasn't been played, please give me.
I was surprised they didn't play "The One That You Hated" for the anniversary shows, I remember Joe saying that was his favorite
Let's fuckin gooooooooo. Does anyone know if their post reunion albums have been expanding their fan base at all? Obviously that's not easily quantifiable, but do you have the impression that they've grown in that regard?
it's hard to say, but i'd vote no. they aren't played on the radio, they aren't promoted to any big markets or anything (that i know of, at least), so i'm sure their only real promotion is them playing shows to people who are there to see other bands, but then they like TEN enough to buy their album. just my guess though.
they definitely strike me as a cult band, like those first few releases got them a lot of buzz and then theyve just maintained their very loving fanbase since. maybe im wrong but they seem the play pretty decent sized shows and do Warped and stuff so they certainly have a good sized fanbase but i dont think the last 2 albums grew their fanbase much they just maintained what they had. I do remember Imbue getting quite a lot of attention from publications though, its almost like people forgot IC had happened and thought Imbue was like a comeback or something. Either way im all about it lets go
Crazy to think In Currents turns 5 this year. Feels like yesterday for me. I had never been so excited for a record to be released.
