And not only one post, two. Maybe something was finalized today. New record deal / label possibly? I feel like their contract was for two albums with Rise. I also feel like a new label (because so many of the bands on Rise that were similar to them have now disbanded - PBC, MDAM, Transit, Daytrader, Jealous Sound, Man Overboard) would do them well / would help them reach a new audience.
Their average is like one every three years though. This would be the quickest turn around they've ever had.
I want Ace to do a full pop record with stuff like "One more song". I don't know if that'll ever happen, but it'd be interesting.
I can see that happening somewhere down the line in his solo career. BTW does Ace tour off of solo stuff or?
i remember reading an interview or something awhile back that he wrote and recorded a radio pop album, but then eventually decided he didn't like it, or he felt like it wasn't actually a direction he wanted to go, or his label didn't like it, SOMETHING. i don't remember the reason. and i thiiiiiink i remember him saying he actually gave a song from it to another artist. but yeah, either way, Ace has a full pop record SOMEWHERE, but it's locked away and hidden from us.
i don't understand the question, but he does tour solo, he plays his solo songs, and also some TEN songs.
Damnit. Yeah, I get the feeling he'd feel like a sellout or something if he resorted to writing full on pop albums, like it would be disingenuous.
yeah that was my question, thus far since I've been following I only saw the one support tour he was doing with that dude from the Movielife/I Am The Avalanche so I wasn't sure if he did that regularly or if it was as sporadic as TEN stuff Also that seems kind of silly, if he means the songs I don't see how they'd be disingenuous. He could make the best pop album but it's not like it'd gonna be a huge crossover success either so I feel like if I listened to it, I'd just assume it was because that's what he felt like doing and nothing more.
I feel like a few of the songs written for that album made it onto WIHTG. I think a few others were stripped down for Gold Rush (Connected and Gods)...but I'm not 100% certain about that. All I really remember is him saying that he decided to not go through with the project entirely because he wasn't playing all the instruments / wasn't allowed to do harmonies on the record (basically just become a singer) and he didn't want that & I remember a much, much poppier version of Connected, and a much more rock oriented version of Gods on his Myspace page around 2008.
Also, I MAY be looking into this WAY too much, BUT the last time Jeff hash-tagged something (#TEN2015) it was in late 2014 and that signaled Imbue sooooooooo......
