Really excited to give this a listen! Also p disappointed in the writing for this article, calling it the "Take the Chaos" tour and quoting Ace "Embers" multiple times
The title track is so beautiful. Great album closer. I'm really enjoying this more than In Currents or Imbue. It's already up there with TMTMTP.
Confused by the comments. I'm mega disappointed. Most of this is hitting me as melodically cheesy and musically average.
something about the production rubs me the wrong way. does anybody know how much the rest of the band was involved in the writing of this?
Thank youuuuuuuu Although I will say, in all fairness, that I liked the second half of the Blink album much more than the first half, and I have not yet given this new TEN album the fair chance of a full listen.
I unfairly over hyped this album and was gutted on first listen for the same reasons you stated. After a few listens over the last week since I bought the cd, it an okay album. Nothing here is close to the specialness that is Imbue.
The Early November mannequin in the wilderness? The only thing that actually sounds like TEN on this new album is Aces voice.. the rest is not TEN at all... sounds like Ace went crazy and created it all in his studio and just told the guys “hey here’s a new album, this is what we’re playing now”
It really sounds like he just did the whole thing himself.. it doesn’t sound like something TEN would write as a band..
According to the album jacket, all the original members are listed as the original band with Bill. But all the promotional stuff shows otherwise.
Idk, to me it sounds very reminiscent of The Mother, Mechanic, Path. Plus the bass playing and guitar parts have Sergio/Bill written all over them.
I would agree. Most of the songs seem like they belong on TMTMTP. Not a bad thing. I'm enjoying the album as a whole.
I really like this album after listening to it twice today, but it doesn't top Imbue for me by far, and also, sounds a bit like ICMAM or something, which is ok.
Really bothered by the mix and production. Like, it sounds like there are whole guitar tracks missing in the songs. I can’t get into it. Imbue is still tops for me.
