This album ended up being my least favorite TEN record ever. I’m sure it’ll grow on me in a few years but I highly doubt it’ll grow on me enough to enjoy it on the same level as past TEN records. What a bummer after waiting 4 years.
Lilac is arguably my favorite album of theirs. Prior to this it was TMTMTP and even In Currents was right up there...but at this point of my life, I'd definitely rather listen to this type of TEN than those two albums. This album was easily a top 3 album for me in 2019.
I haven’t really had much desire to return to this tbh. I’m sure I Will eventually tho and really enjoy it when I do, but who knows when that’ll be. TMTMTP still reigns supreme.
I forget this even came out, tbh. Not sure I even made it through the whole thing. Not because it was terrible; just unmemorable. Will revisit at some point.
The initial hype for this died off pretty quickly for me. Perfect Sphere is still a great song, but nothing else really held up for me.
I really want to like this but it does nothing for me. The vocal effect when he sings "if I got hit by a car" is especially cringe-worthy and I skip that song because of it.
Still really like this a whole lot any time I return to it. Definitely suffers from spotty production, but I think the songs still do well by capturing the spirit of TEN through a 2019 lense
idk where it falls in line really with their other records but I'm glad it exists and some of the songs really hit hard with me
I haven't revisited this in a few months, so I'm curious to see how it holds up for me. Perfect Sphere and You Own My Mind are top tier TEN tracks though.
This ended the year as my no.3 and probably could be no.2. Idk, this feels like the record ace was always supposed to make.
I wrote about The World We Know, which turns 10 this month: It Holds Up: 'The World We Know' Turns 10 - The Alternative
