At first I was a little put off by the vocal delivery, felt a little too crammed. Still think he could’ve toned it down a bit on the verses but it doesn’t really bother me Otherwise this honestly kinda sounds like a better version of what I’ve been trying to shoot for in my own music lately — songs that mimic radio pop but still sound like they’re being played by an actual band. In the past when Ace has tried this it’s come off on the wrong side of cheesy for me but he kinda hit the nail on the head here. This sounds like it could be a Halsey song or something and that rules
Damn... there is none of these 3 songs are grabbing me. I like Hit By A Car but the production is rough, I Dissolve is whatever, and this song is meh.. What a bummer. I love TEN. Maybe the rest of the record will grab me but ehhh... it’s not looking good.
It's definitely one of those times where I have to get in the mindset of "okay, they're evolving, I know you want another Room's Too Cold, but give it a chance" and I think I'll like this album just fine once I fully adjust. I feel like there's this strange stigma or something about not being a real fan unless you like ALL a band's albums or songs or something. People change, music changes, etc. I know some people who are very much "ugh, THAT'S what they sound like how?! Well, I'm done with them" and then write bands off. I don't know. This song made me think of that. By the way, not calling anyone out or anything. I'm just rambling for no reason.
This album is shaping up to be something really, really special. All three of these songs are something new and different for the band but everything comes together really well. The overall vibes are so beautiful, and Ace sounds amazing. It's just amazing how he/they can take a new turn in another direction and pull it off so damn well, I can't wait for this album goddamn
This kind of reminds me of what Andrew McMahon did a few years ago. I think Ace is deserving of mainstream success after all these years.
Wow, that song is wonderful. Reminds me of a little Andrew McMahon (post-Jack's) mixed with a little modern-day Relient K.
I think that's why I'm not digging it.. I couldn't stand the stuff Andrew McMahon has done with his "in the Wilderness" stuff. Just felt insanely cheeseball for my tastes.
almost put my weakness and our choice on my list lol. i think fame has a clunky beginning but i really love it once it gets going
