Over My Shoulder and 5am were Lilac outtakes too. much prefer the original versions of both but Twenty is still a lot of fun. Denent is a ripper
From Twenty I still often come back to Make It Happen, Denent and Five Years. The rest of the album is fine but certainly feel like b-sides.
those are the best 3 for sure, even though 2 of them are extremely old, it's nice to have updated versions of both.
TRTC, The Room's Too Cold. Denet was created and demo'd during that time but never released in any form til 20. If you dig back into when they released it, we talked a lot about how it makes sense it's from that era because it sounds like it does more: The Early November Release New Single “Denent” – THOUGHTS WORDS ACTION
Remember the guy who offered $100 to hear thrice’s palms early. That’s what I wanna do for ten (kidding)
Haven’t listened to this band in quite some time, but I like this new song a lot. Will check this out
Finally listened to these songs and they’re…fine. Hopefully they grow on me. What We Earn is half Lilac, half Imbue, imo. Liked it much more than About Me. The In Currents/Imbue comparisons is interesting because I find those two albums to be quite different from each other. I adore IC, but Imbue is my least favorite TEN record.
This explains why I haven’t been able to find this. I’ve checked Apple Music multiple times since this was announced.
Lilac? why bc there’s electronic elements in the intro? After that it rips way harder than anything on lilac!
due to the vocal delivery/melodies and production, it does resemble some choices on Lilac for sure. The electronic elements are pretty much fresh
this feels a little more classic TEN than Lilac did, but there are some real surprises on this imo! things I've never heard them do before. and a few songs where they do their thing as well as they ever have ("The High Priestess" is a Perfect Early November Song if I have ever heard one). also, judging from the stream I have (and I was thinking this with the two singles too), this is the best their recordings have sounded in a long time. I mean what can I say? definitely hit home with me
