A while back, Zach from Jimmy Eat World posted some samples of his kit, but now I can't seem to find them. Anyone have them/want to help me google? Also, any recommendation for drum samples? I've got an elec kit and I'll be triggering them in logic.
I just joined instagram: @heplaysdrums. Planning on keeping it music-only posts of grooves, fun lessons for the pad etc. Who are some good drummers to follow? I'm looking for guys like Jason McGerr from Death Cab who posts a lot of videos of them recording or practicing.
Calling all Coheed/Eppard fans. This is rad because he gets into the purpose and thought behind the drums and song writing. There's also a commentary-less version, too.
popping in here because I bought a new gigging case and I'm so stoked. carries cymbals, snare, kick pedal, other small things. so great
Typically goes for $500, but I bought it used on Reverb for $260. The guy never opened it or used it. Whole situation is really bizarre
My dream is the write a drum part where I’m playing on a closed hi hat in the chorus, but I don’t think I’m capable of it. Too advanced
If I can't be a professional touring drummer, I would love to be a tech for a band or drummer I really admire.
first time cutting the hole myself. the actual cut was kind of a mess, but thank god for the rings to cover it up lmao don't sell my feet pics online, but if you do please give me a cut of the rev. thanks
thanks! it was definitely tricky to cut. whenever I have to do this again, I may go with heating a can and melting it through the head instead.
The easiest way to do this is to stick the part on the inside first, then use that as a guide for your blade.
popping back in here because I just remembered something from my first week of college that I still think is very funny for some reason. My first year, I was going to school for music education and while I was already a drummer and had been for a long time, I was assigned a drum teacher because it was just part of the whole thing. Anyway, my drum teacher told me he had a Phd in drumming and I not only did I not know what that meant, I thought that was the least cool thing you could ever do with drums, and I think it made me think less of him as a drummer too I dropped my music ed major 2 weeks later lmao I apologize to anyone who has a phd in drums
I've just started listening to the DRUMS? podcast and am absolutely loving it. Hosted by 4 dudes that have played for Say Anything, Anberlin, Copeland, Grouplove, Dashboard, and others. They've had awesome guests including: Riley from Thrice, bassist for Phoebe Bridgers, Josh from Coheed, Tim from Manchester Orchestra and a few more. If you enjoy listening to relatable drummer complaints, tips and tricks, touring life, recording hacks etc., I HIGHLY recommend it.
i think i'm 2-3 episodes behind but listening to them talk about how much endorsements have changed over the years in the episode i'm on has been fascinating.
