radio killaaaaa been listening to the trilogy a bit lately, come hang out for the uninitiated, teirus "the-dream" nash is the writer of "single ladies" "umbrella" "xo" and many more, he is also the architect of striking prince worship and some of the best r&b of the last decade also rediscovered what feels like a lost gem, this electrik red record he produced in 09:
I revisited the trilogy recently too, and tbh I enjoy it even more now than when I first listened to it a few years ago. My top 5 The-Dream songs would probably look something like "Black", "Fruition", "Sweat It Out", "Playin' In Her Hair" and "Turnt Out". It's tough though, his discography is really solid (IV Play is clearly his weakest album yet though). I heard he's meant to be releasing a new album called Love Affair sometime soon.
I've always liked The Dream. His records are great, but his hook game was what really put him on my radar, LL's "Baby" was big in my circle.
This man is such a great songwriter. I need to revisit his trilogy again... I hope we get another album from him soon though too.
this man was a King Midas for a while altho now he seems to have lost his way a little anyway, Love vs Money is absolutely perfect and one of my favorite albums ever - the songwriting is economic and pretty much perfect, production is on a whole other level and the HOOKS are immense put it down is a fucking anthem Radio Killa indeed I mean... this man wrote R's Umbrella and B's Single Ladies collaborates with Ye he is a god 1977 is also a dark understated masterpiece so yeah the Dream
New EP isn't bad, but definitely isn't his best effort. A lot of good production but the songs aren't sticking quite
I listened through one time and it's pretty enjoyable throughout. At some point I'm going to go back through it and try to make a Best Of, because it's obviously way too long
