We'll see....still get the sense that Aeroplane isn't my thing, but I'd love to be wrong. Always hate when there's a really popular band or album I just don't get
I know the feeling. It's why I kept trying with JEW and that's paying off, haha. Aeroplane is definitely an album I can see just not being for some people but it's so good I do think it's worth checking out again.
OH FUCK I FORGOT PINKERTON AND GRACE IM A DIS-GRACE I remember reading all of the fanboy reviews and theories on Aeroplane. All the memes like "ITS A POTATO! ITS A TAMBERINE!" "Semen stains the mountain tops!" And "ITS ALL ABOUT ANNE FRANK!" Then I listened to it and was underwhelmed. Then came back to it and now I think it's a masterpiece
God damn it I forgot August and Everything After that's a stellar album but it's the only Crows release I love. "Round Here" still gets me to this day like it did the first time I heard it on the radio when I was like 7
August and Everything After is okay. I never really liked Counting Crows much either -- don't think Adam Duritz' voice is something I enjoy very much.
The first two Counting Crows albums are dope, but Adam Duritz's dreads are fake so it all cancels out That first Gin Blossoms album in a perfect world would be on the same level as 3EB s/t.
ok, 20 from the 90's (in no order): Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill Bardo Pond - Bufo Alvarius Pavement - Wowee Zowee (how can I be the first to mention Pavement) Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing American Football - s/t (1999, baby) Björk - Homogenic Sigur Rós - Aegaetis Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers Bedhead - Transaction de Novo Smashing Pumpkins - Adore Sebadoh - III Fugazi - Repeater Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West Current 93 - All the Pretty Little Horses Dead Can Dance - Into the Labyrinth Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On Ween - The Mollusk Bonnie "Prince" Billy - I See a Darkness Boredoms - Super AE
I couldn't even name 20 albums I've heard from the '90s. I listen to basically nothing from before 2000, it's pretty bad. The only things would be old Green Day, Blink, MxPx, Offspring, and Radiohead albums.
3eb is like an immense hook machine (at least up until Out of the Vein), that's why it worked they are also great musicians, but that's secondary
you're missing out most of my fav music is from 200o onwards, but there are a lot of sick records from the 90's
