E&i and change are great but I can’t really get into is terrified

 

ice of boston is an amazing song obviously, and the dismemberment plan gets rich (not on the album but from the era) is a fun song live

 

Yeah that song’s an exception of course

 

love Is Terrified, took me a while to admit I like E&I more than it bc I loved it so much haha. I think I like it as much as Change. Respect is Due is a great closer, and I just love the energy of it all

 

Change is just a hair below E&I for me, i think theyre both pretty much flawless.

Vacation by Bomb the Music Industry definitely has heavy Change vibes

thanks for reminding that campaign for a better weekend is a fantastic opener

 

he cops melodies from Change at least twice on Vacation and the shift in mood from Scrambles to Vacation is a similar shift as the one that led to Change

 

Is Terrified has Ice of Boston, Blows to the Head, the Standing Still, and Respect is Due.

Definitely a lower tier compared to the two albums that followed. Though I heard their reunion album was meh

 

@cwhit single handedly went on a smear campaign for the reunion album. I still haven't heard it cause he paid to have it removed from all streaming services

 

the standing still is so fun. I think that's the thing with Is Terrified, it's a genuinely fun album which is not something I'd associate with the genre it's in. even the stops and starts sound playful to me, idk

:) man the back half of this album is absolutely incredible. The City -> Back and Forth are insane and funky in the best way

 

Finding a new appreciation for Is Terrified.

On a bit of a DPlan kick feelin existential

 

Ice of Boston, and Respect is Due are probably among their best work. Love that album

 

Great band, who never got back together and put out a reunion record

 

Yes no album exists after Change. Glad it stayed that way....

 

The Dismemberment Plan's 'Emergency & I' Turns 20

I listened to Emergency & I and Goodness so much during my first months living in Philadelphia. A record that reminds me of a strange transition that was so exciting and scary. will love forever
