Fair enough. I have a pretty strong connection to Damage, but my love for CTL is fairly new and less rooted in personal connection. Futures was the first album that clicked with me for the band, but over time I've just really cooled off on it for some reason.
I cooked on futures too. Definitely still has a lot of their best, but I think it's less consistent. I like damage a lot but have little connection to it. I've always just loved CTL
bleed american is the only jimmy eat world album that might be better than clarity tbh i didn't complete hate the dplan comeback album. at the very least they were magical on the comeback tour
First Listen: Personal Space's "Ghost World" is a listless soundtrack to the greyest days another one, less d-plan worship though
Just came in to say You Are Invited might have the greatest narratively relevant chorus idk it just feels so seamless. I'm buying the album bc my version doesn't seem to be the best quality
I looked up the vinyl since I figured if I was gonna buy it, I might as well really buy it, but the prices were kind of insane? Even for a 2xLP?
i hope they tour more again. I even wouldn't mind another album, even though I'm very heard on Uncanney Valley.
i want some shows because at this point i'm sure they won't play almost anything from the newest record
At best, Uncanney Valley had some weird songs that weren't dissimilar from, like, Is Terrified. Some of those songs were just exceedingly bad, though.
I was just listening to Q and Not U for the first time, heavy Dismemberment Plan vibes imo, it's like they listened to a lot of E&I but kept the two guitars instead of opting for a guitar + keys. It's cool, recommended to anyone who (like me) needs to catch up on Dischord stuff outside the obvious stuff
