Lol if Tommy started talking he would have never stopped

 

Franco should've let Tommy speak. That was so awkward lol

 

I dunno, agree that it’s not the best look for Franco, but in fairness 1) it was Franco’s award, and 2) god only knows what Tommy might say, or how long he would take to say it. Would have been entertaining to find out though, lol.

 

Yea I think Tommy would have rambled on too much and Franco knew it wasnt the time and place. Its the only time he has ever silenced him so I think that's okay. He brought him to all the late night shows and got to speak.

 

Yeah probably a good idea he didn’t let him get started haha

Although to be fair, pretty sure Tommy is more articulate than Trump for whatever that’s worth.

 

it was also kind of weird that Tommy got up but they then cut to Greg just sitting mostly alone at a table in the back haha

 

I didn’t think it was uncalled for to stop Tommy at all lol

 

It wasn't Tommy Wiseau's award. Franco had every right to stop him from speaking.

 

Tommy being on stage was enough of a dream come true for him I think. He seemed really nervous to me, I’m not sure how a speech would have turned out.

Also low key nervous he would have said something problematic about me too or times up and it would ruin the room for me.

 

Yeah the Room is special but someone with the attitudes toward women explored in the Room having a microphone for an extended period of time is probably best avoided. Interested to see if the whispers about Franco’s harassment pick up steam, as well.

 

Bringing him upstage was a very nice gesture there was no need to let him speak

 

Seems like something they should have cleared up before. "Hey, if I win, you can come up, but let me do the talking."

 

Apparently, this is what Tommy was going to say.

“If a lot of people loved each other, the world would be a better place to live. See The Room, have fun, and enjoy life. The American Dream is alive, and it’s real.”

 

other than the plug for the Room, that's a really nice speech

Well...

 

Totally didn’t realize Greg and Tommy are making another movie together.. wow.

 

I think they're constantly talking about how they're doing things but they never seem to materialize. Although yeah apparently I remember hearing this is Greg's movie that he wrote and will direct and Tommy will just act in.

 

Yeah I was just looking into it on IMDB. Very interested to watch Tommy’s performance as an actor after all this time.

 

They released the trailer for it a while ago and I am genuinely interested.

Omg I forgot this happened, this was great.

 

As far as I know, it's still in the process of distribution. A rough cut screened in London (amazing) back in September and then at the Egyptian Theatre for BeyondFest at the end of September. Hopefully it gets picked up soon if it hasn't already.

 

He's said the same thing verbatim countless times in different places lol

 

Definitely not winning an Oscar for this after all the backlash.
