It looks like it's still listed at my local theaters. Guess I better jump on it while I can.

Also, looks like it’s going wide around me. Playing at the Cinemark and AMC by my house

The double feature at my theater is Disaster Artist first and The Room second which is fine for me I guess but pretty much kills it for my friend who was hoping for this as his chance to know The Room before seeing TDA

As a big fan of The Room/Tommy, I loved this. As a fan of movies, I’m not sure, it’s hard to separate myself from my own fanaticism. Very enjoyable, but I don’t know if I’d like this nearly as much if I wasn’t a huge fan of The Room

Watched The Room with my dad tonight...

    He didn't get it

I loved this, but I definitely would have enjoyed it more if I hadn’t read the book. They really glossed over things and it moved very quickly.

    Still great.

Also stay till the end of the credits. There is an absurd scene. I was the only person in the theater who stayed

This is doing pretty poorly at our theater. It's been in our smallest auditorium (95 seats) and I don't think it's even half sold yet. That's a bummer

I loved this. I’m glad it wasn’t just making fun of Tommy the whole time, you really feel for him while still being hilarious. My theater was sold out but it was also a smaller one with recliners and everything.

Think I’ve decided to see this without making an effort to see The Room first.

James Franco was incredible in this but Dave Franco was really good too. The diner scene where they act was great.

Nathan Fielder as Peter was perfect though

I thought Efron as Chris R stole the show. Wish he was in it more

Yeah I really liked this. Solid performances all around. I didn’t even know that was Efron til the premier scene.

Also thanks for the tip about the after credits scene.

Why are you up against a wahhlll?

There is so much from the book I wish made it into the movie

I think they left out so much that could have really added to the Tommy mystery. Him owning buildings, Street Fashions USA, ordering hot water at restaurants. Also The Talented Mr Ripley viewings. They reference it once in the movie, with Tommy saying "...like Mark Damon" and I think I was the only person who laughed since they didn't set it up at all.
The script is actually TOO streamlined. It's impressive how they were able to condense the entire book into such a sleek product, but they left out a lot of the flavor.

I still loved it, but it's a rare case of a longer run time benefiting the movie.

Also I really wish all the recreations from The Room still had the terrible audio dubbing

I did. I’ve only seen clips from the room but went with my buddies last night. It was fucking hilarious
