It’s been a while since an album put a smile on my face this consistently. The line about going to IKEA gets me every time. What a complete delight.
I don't know HOW I managed to miss the boat on these guys so bad but damn, I love this crap out of this and am thankful I'm finding it now!
Yeah this album is fun as hell. Had doom boy in my head for 4 days straight now. The intro to damage control massively reminds me of something but I can't place it. Really bugging me.
I really do think this album could help them expand their American audience and it looks like that's already happening. I feel like a lot of bands are stagnating because of the lack of touring but nothing seems to stop the Nil and I am one proud fan.
Never listened to this band before, but I am checking this out based on the fact so many are talking about it (on here and elsewhere).
I did a few days ago. It's fun! A cool look into how they pulled off recording the album at the start of the pandemic and how they had to get creative to promote it in the midst of it.
Yeah I heard Luke talk on a few podcasts about the crunch time of finishing the guitars in 2 days but the doc definitely gave a better look at how crazy that actually was haha I feel like they've always been super creative in their marketing and everything they did last year including the new years release was all great. Year of the Nil!
Yeah I liked this on first listen but HOLY FUCK this rips so hard. Imagine having the stones to drop a genuine AOTY contender on New Years Day lol.
I guess I’ll be that guy - after one go through I’m not impressed. But with all the positivity in here I’m gonna give it a few more spins to see if it clicks.
