I fucking love all their albums (big suprise) but this one definitely feels the most cohesive. Higher Power was different obviously since Dave did lead vox on three songs (and they ripped). Don't know if they have any open G rippers on this one though ala Friends in the Sky or Smoking is Magic.
This is exceptional. I’ve liked some of their previous stuff, but my god this is flawless. What a perfect way to start the new year. I feel like I'm escaping 2020 by kicking down the door to apartment 2021, with this album playing in the background.
in a just world they’d be as big as Pup. i’ve heard from some connected people it’s Pup having A+ management and Nil being a little more insular to the canadian scene. hopefully a few of these songs catch on and they can blow up a bit
PUP getting on the Menzingers Rented World tour back in '14 as their first American cross country tour was the golden ticket. I remember like 10 people in a sold out 700-cap room knowing them before their set. After people were yelling "fuck the Menzingers!" lol.
they have the same management as death cab and shit. it makes sense they’d be bigger. just in a just world nil would have that
I actually learned about the mil from pup, I think they toured together at some point and promoted it on their Instagram?
I work at a rock radio station and we played That's What Heaven Feels Like a good amount, but I don't think we've gotten anything from FART in the rotation yet. Everyone involved with programming/promotions are big Nil fans though so hopefully we can get a single on soon. Not sure why Blunt Force Concussion isn't the #1 rock song in the world rn
Yeah really the only big tour Nil has done in the states was with Against Me they just need some really solid support tours when things kick back in. They should be huge or at least as big as Pup over here, much more accessible imo It'll be interesting to see if they get spots with The Struts or Glorious Suns. That would probably help them outside of the punk scene. But someone like Pup/Menz would be good too I think
they have a big enough connection to classic rock shit where i feel like they could tour with anyone. like, them touring with fucking foo fighters doesnt not make sense
I'm a fan because of the against me tour. They have a really solid discography now, i absolutely agree a big tour is just what they need.
I’m only a fan of this band because of people on here hyping up Master Volume when it came out. Might never have heard of them otherwise.
Absolutely, I could see them getting a big slot like that Festivals will help too. I think I'm going to have to see them in Toronto when all this over for sure though
