This article has been imported from chorus.fm for discussion. All of the forum rules still apply. The Dillinger Escape have announced they are breaking up. We’re really excited about this new album as well, but at the same time, it’s going to be our 20-year anniversary in 2017 — it might be even longer because I’m not sure when I started writing songs, but the first EP came out in ’97 — so I think it’s one of those things where we didn’t want to get to the point where we’re stopping because we have to or because we’re old or people are kind of over it. They will release their final album, Dissociation, on October 14th. They’ve also released the new song “Limerent Death.” Expand - View Original
Damn, Miss Machine and Ire Works were the soundtrack to my college experience. Long Live. PS - I wonder what the hell Chris Pennie is up to these days...
Fuck I really need to see them at Riot Fest now, absolutely critical influence on me getting into heavy music back in the day. Even did a presentation on "Farewell, Mona Lisa" for my college music theory class lol.
The new track is a real barn burner. Kinda helps the shittiness of them calling it quits, but also makes it suck more &:*^(-[-{
A little bummed to hear this but I'm somehow not surprised. I heard the new song and while it rips, I feel nothing. They were great on the 2012 Deftones tour, though; I'll be thankful that I got to see that.
