Transit Blues remains my favorite for its post-metal vibes, in the same way Disambiguation is Underoath's peak for me
eyes is pretty good tbh i think the biggest problem with these songs is they start as blandly as possible and take a while to get to where they want to go lol
I'm listening to Plagues for the first time in years and I cannot believe these two singers are the same two singers on these new songs. I've never appreciated how different their voices are nowadays. Jeremy in particular. How on earth does he sing any old songs live?!
Isn't their old stuff all tuned down live? I remember seeing recent live footage of Danger Wildman and it sounded like it was played in Drop B instead of Drop D
jammed z2 today for the first time in a while and it made me more depressed about the likely outcome of this album lmao. i think itd be one thing if they went directly from the act to color decay to this because itd at least follow a straight line but hearing shit like nora and forlorn from them just 4 years ago makes me so frustrated with how short of their potential theyve been since. really want to root for this band but they have made it so hard
New song released on 23 October - I do warn you though, in the 5 second teaser, Mike is holding a guitar - you know what that means
This is an unfortunate "thing" these days. There's a band I like that released 7 singles and 4 songs were saved for release day.
It's here. I feel sorry for Mike at this point. If this was a non-single in the context of the album I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid, but they're choosing to release this as a single. This makes me concerned for the 7 songs that haven't been released
i tend to think people care too much about the number of singles thing at the very least, it's helping me correctly adjust my expectations for this album lol
I've found this band quite "boring" of late, which is sad as they're the band which made me sign up for AP in 2006 (ish) This might be down to my tastes changing, though!
One more addition to alt metal slop. The tired chord progression, the amen break in the background, the BMTH sounding synth motif... everything about this is so played out in 2025. Where has their creativity and taste gone?
i've been avoiding the singles since they dropped the title track but every interview i've read implies that mike's okay with taking the backseat. not sure why the narrative seems to be that he hates his new role or has a problem with it.
