where the flowers never grow is alright tbh but the others are really really rough

I don't hate them but they're definitely not hitting as much as anything of their previous stuff, which is a big shame

  3. It sucks because they've done great alt rock oriented stuff in the past, but this time the songwriting leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like they're going through the motions.

  5. This gif makes me want to put on Zombie I and II instead. Maybe they'll do a classic "back to roots" release in the future

I've only skimmed them so I can't have any real opinion but I like the sound of them and I'm excited to hear it too.

Gave all the singles another shot and Ritual is still the only one I think is decent. Title track has its moments but still feels meh overall.

It’s funny how formulaic they’ve become. You can pretty much guess exactly where Mike comes in every time and it feels soulless. Also; the lyrics are so goddamn generic and I don’t believe Jeremy as he sings most of them tbh.

I’ve been such a big fan of this band since Roots but man.. they’re so cooked unless they make a big pivot next record but I very much doubt it. The general masses will eat this up sadly.

As a passive listener of this band, Eyes blows me away. Video fucking rips, too. Bummer to read the feedback in here!

It's not TDWP we're used to. There's not many bands I'd be fine with their style changing so much.....but Jeremy and Mike's vocals can't do any wrong.l as far as I'm concerned.Like is said, it's different than what we are used to, even from what we *expected*, but I still enjoy it.

usually i dig it when bands change this radically tbh, but like, the change has to be somewhat artistically compelling and this really just feels like theyre writing for the middle

  15. It's not even a significant change stylistically, these songs wouldn't sound out of place on Color Decay or The Act... except everything feels much more dumbed down and devoid of any personality now

im kinda lumping color decay in there too, one of my least favorite albums by any band that i like. pretty much everything people have been saying about this stuff i also feel about color decay, just that theyre even further down the road now

not even really a fan of the act either but it undeniably has more going on and just isnt my thing

Color Decay hasn’t aged well for me either. I still love Exhibition, Sacrifice, Trapped, and Hallucinate but the rest of the record ranges from “it’s okay” (Watchtower, Noise, Time) to “that sucks” (Broken, Fire, Cancer)

I still like The Act, 8:18, and Transit Blues but I don’t really return to them much these days. For me it’s always going to be Roots, Dead Throne, and Zombie/ZII.

The urgency and overall power in Dead Throne is something I wish they'd return to. Even though there's a couple of clunkers on that album, it is still my favorite by them. I think they were running off the high of Zombie EP and just kept breaking through brick walls in the studio.

tbh i dont think dead throne has any clunkers lol i love that boy front to back, my fav prada for sure. 2007-2016 im on board with everything though. i love transit blues and it made me pretty stoked about the potential of what prada without a lot of their original songwriters could be, but sans z2 its been mostly misses since

Dead Throne with Jon’s production choices would go crazy. Closest we’ve gotten to that is probably ZII.

Biased since I have the dead throne art tattooed on my leg, but I think that is their magnum opus by far.

I just can’t get into the slower songs on it :(
    Maybe I need to revisit.

How do we go from Mammoth to an eventual song like Kansas

What other slower songs are there outside of Kansas? I guess Chicago but it picks up by 1:20 and it’s an absolute banger IMO

My favorite TDWP era is 8:18/The Act so their progression from heavy to not so heavy hasn't completely shocked me.
