Where The Flowers Never Grow is great. Love the heaviness at the end. Excited for the full thing to drop and see what it sounds like
I'd say without Mike they would become extremely generic. I think his vocals make this band stand out in the genre. The whole octane radio path seems like a strange direction for this band. is it the way to stay more relevant for bands who have been around for years? Still looking forward to new album, hoping it leans heavy and not the pop/altrock
i also think there's something to be said about maturing and not wanting to play heavy music about the same subjects all the time. evolution feels like a natural step in a genre like metalcore but i could be completely off base. they look like they're having fun on stage at least.
New track but I feel like this band and record isn’t for me at this point sadly. Ritual is chill though.
finally checked these songs out and good god im sorry but theyre so bad, what the hell happened to this band? i know theyve had a full member turnaround outside of mike and jeremy but its still kind of mind boggling
Trying to cope by reminding myself there are 9 remaining tracks but my expectations are quite low for this album. First time this has happened with their material.
Bummed out. Knowing that they are going to play these singles heavily on any tour, I'm going to bow out until a Zombie anniversary tour or something. Didn't they want to do a Space II Ep..? Or space zombies?
The change in direction is mostly (if not entirely) due to Jon. He writes the majority of the music and he’s been taking them to radio rock more and more with every release. On one hand, I get it because they’ve successfully pulled themselves out of obscurity (Transit Blues to The Act era), but on the other hand - it feels so manufactured and toothless. He also produces all their music now as well.
the press run for this will be interesting. want to hear what mike has to say about his role on the record
Apparently I’ve seen zero promotion for this album and had no idea it was coming out. This video just came up in my recommendations and that’s how I found out about it through this thread
Chorus is solid. I like this even if the main riff sounds lifted from any of the post-Dead Reflection Silverstein albums.
Just thinking back to the singles released before Color Decay - Watchtower, Time, Sacrifice and how blown away / hyped I was for the album. None of these have hit me the same way the likes of Watchtower did
It's a bummer because that album art would go so well with a very heavy record. Like a midsommar cult-based EP in a similar energy style of the Zombie EP's.
