this is the band's best album and it's honestly not even close. it's a total "holy shit" record. Reminds me of the first time I heard Dead Throne.
Not really feeling this one. I hope the rest of the tracks we haven’t heard are straight up heavy bangers.
really hoping this album can get them away from the nostalgia tour circuit they've kinda been on the last few years. the act was really good but it just didn't seem to do too much for them.
Song is fine, but I’m ready to hear the whole thing. The singles have me doubting that I’ll like this more than The Act
I checked a couple songs out and I just wish the clean sections had more energy. They used to be the highlight of every song for me but now they're just kinda there.
I checked out Sacrifice and Time. Kinda hoping the rest of the album is better in that respect or at least a bit varied.
Ahead of the new album dropping tomorrow, I spoke with Mike about it. EP #23 - Mike Hranica (The Devil Wears Prada) Honestly, having been lucky enough to listen to it a bunch of times ahead of release, I can assure you that if you enjoyed 'The Act' or 'Transit Blues' then you'll love this new record. One of their best, and I still get goosebumps from the closer.
Whoa I listened to The Act for the first time since it came out and I like it waay more than I remember. Now looking forward to tomorrow
Solid interview - thanks for sharing! Interesting they thought about using the title “Distortions” as the working album title. I prefer Color Decay so they made the right call IMO
Just started this and holy helllllllll - Exhibition is easily one of their best opening tracks of all time. What a BANGER.
“Noise” GOES HARD. Damn, even the singles I wasn’t as hyped on are clicking way more with the overall flow of this record. If they can keep the momentum up (I’m on track 8) then I would definitely agree this is one of their best records to date and could eventually be their best. Pretty impressive that they’re putting out some of their best work 17 years in.
Just finished the record and the boys really outdid themselves here. I’m blown away as this is easily top 3 status for the band’s discography which is insane after they put out the incredible ZII just last year. I would say my top favorite tracks are Exhibition, Noise, and Hallucinate.
I warned you, it really is one of their best and you're totally right - crazy to think that a band nearly two decades in is clearly getting better and better.
