Yeah I'm not interested in this. Not a fan of the re-recording an album trend generally. Usually listen once or twice and then continue listening to the original.
not really a full re-recording, it's like a remix where they were... very liberal about making changes lol
I'll go the opposite way since Migrant was pretty easily my least favorite TDH album, and I see these changes as almost entirely positive - especially including the Annex tracks in the tracklisting, which I have always felt were stronger than many of the main album tracks.
I listened to the first half and while I for the most part don't have strong opinions, I will say that Middle Ground would be a great closer to the album
I'm a big fan of the Annex tracks and including them here but the track order is so off, it's like they made it randomly or something. like Bring You Down in between Middle Ground and Like Crazy doesn't work at all, it's super jarring
This is the track list Casey originally wanted, but the label and management wanted something different. So this is him getting to put the songs in the order he always wanted to tell the story of his divorce.
I get it, just don't think it flows all that well musically, which is odd because all their other albums are tracklisted perfectly The Love as a closer is def an improvement though, gorgeous song
Not CRAZY into this song... However, I wasn't into the singles from Antimai either at first until I heard the whole album and love that album now. Hoping for the same here. Been anxiously waiting for a sequel to this album for some time.
When did you fall off? Did you listen to Act IV & V? Also Antimai is a great, easily digestible concept album, reminds me of the Hunger Game districts. Not that into this new song on first listen but excited to hear the album as a whole.
Act Iv: Rebirth in Reprise was the last one i remember liking about half of. A lot. After that, nothing has clicked. It's just all sounded like it's trying to do too much.
I can't ever decide between IV & V, although "Light" did make me cry the first time I listened to it after the birth of my son, so that gives V an edge lol.
While this sounds really good, I'm not finding a lot to latch onto. I had the same problem with Antimai.
