I enjoy all the Acts but V might be my favorite, though it took me 4 or 5 listens to really get into it
V>IV>Migrant>III>CS>II>I

 

After a few listens Act V is really clicking and sounding great, took a little bit for me to get into Act IV as well, I think I like IV just a little bit better overall but V is amazing, "Cascade" and "Gloria" are some of the best songs I've heard yet from this band!

Finally found time for this, another solid album from the crew. Really enjoy the few tracks with the added female vocals, really adds something new to the band's sound

 

Didn't fully listen until this past weekend, but I agree. Definitely better than Act IV

 

also smdh over me not being thanked in the credits of the video; he discovered TDH indirectly through me

 

Act V gets better with each listen. I also enjoy the singles a lot more in the context of the album.

 

I can't wait to read the act one graphic novel when it is released to the general public

 

I really just can't wait for all the novels to be out so I can finally know (with absolute certainty) what the hell is happening in these albums. Hahaha

 

he's doing a 'story time' along with the final acts tour where he explains everything (and reads children's books if people bring them) but he asked that nothing gets revealed until after the tour is over. we'll just have to wait a little but i think i have a pretty good understanding of the story

 

Neil from AllMusic just posted a really fantastic review of the album that, at least for me, really helped make sense of the story as well as how to view this album in comparison to I-IV

The Dear Hunter Setlist at Summit Music Hall, Denver

Setlist from the tour. Ignoring the above info/whether or not that has anything to do with it, this is kinda a disappointing setlist for what's supposed to be their final tour.

 

Damn I'm going next week. I need to learn the lyrics way better

 

They were playing 16 songs I bet they shortened it for his voice

 

also they are going to be playing this stuff again it just won't ONLY be acts stuff

 

Man, this is a little disappointing, but at the same time I guess it's unavoidable if he's really had it screwed up that bad. Maybe it'll be better in a couple weeks for my show. Haha

(Also, this is not the final Dear Hunter tour, just the final Act centered one)

 

might as well not tour then because everything but the acts and half of color sucks

of course, joking, but I could have sworn they said it was the last tour/the last time TDH would exist in it's 'present form' (implication to me was Casey going orchestral). Guess I was wrong. TIL.

 

I don't think so, On the podcast and q and a he said these songs would still be in future sets but there wouldn't be full tours dedicated to them

 

I just want him to take care of himself, he's a really talented dude and he has such a bright future in front of him. Maybe he could postpone the tour? Idk
