    hey you lil piss baby

Release date pretty much confirms a Cannes premiere.

Can’t find any more plot details yet, but it’s a zombie movie.

Iggy Pop, RZA, Tom Waits, Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Sara Driver, Carol Kane and Tom Waits.

    Looks extremely entertaining....

....but I'll be a slight debbie downer and say I'm in need of a good story scary zombie film. It's been a long time. I know some low budget-ish ones have been released over the years but the last really good zombie film that was meant to be a thriller/scary/whatever was the Dawn of the Dead remake IMO. I guess you could say 28 days/weeks if you're counting them as zombies.

Really what I really need is for HBO to buy the rights to World War Z and make a 12 episode miniseries out of the book. That's what I really need. But a good 'serious' zombie movie would be nice too.

But all that said I am definitely seeing this, looks like it could be a lot of fun.

This is an odd one that I don't think I could recommend to anyone that isn't a Jarmusch fan. I feel like people expecting an all-star "Zombieland"-type movie are going to be as pissed as the "Mother!" crowd was when they saw it was a Jennifer Lawrence movie.

How would I feel about this if I only saw Paterson from him (which I loved)

It definitely has the mumbling, slow-moving qualities of a typical Jarmusch film. But it doesn't really have "Patersen"'s charm or focus, since it has jump to like six different characters.

Is it true that this is pretty meta with some fourth wall breaks? Just seems like an odd movie coming from JJ after Paterson, and reviews have been underwhelming.

    It's very, very meta.

Does it work a la Deadpool, or does it get a little too cute with itself? Guess you could argue DP does the latter as well, but I read about the opening sequence mentioning the films own theme, so I was curious how much they keep self-referencing.

Without spoiling too much, there are multiple references to the movie's theme song, "Star Wars" in reference to Adam Driver's character and the movie's script.
