just here to remind everyone that War Paint is a god damn masterpiece of an album, and it's absolutely wild how good it is on the heels of Reach for the Sun, also a damn near perfect album, especially for a debut.

Absolutely no shade to RFTS, it's absolutely still one of my favs, but the performance and production on War Paint are just transcendent, it flows so well and still tears me apart after all these years. I know AJ has had some missteps over the years, but honestly I cannot imagine the pressure of trying to keep going after creating those monumental albums at such a young age. Wish him/them all the best and hope to see them on the road again soon.

Agreed, War Paint is still great and my favorite of theirs. I was just listening to RFTS and WP for the first time in ages yesterday, funny timing.

We reach for the longest shadow

I'll never forget Work In Progress breaking Chorus' (absolutepunk's?) collective brain

I think everything they put out was pretty damn great until Coming Home/Gravity.

For my money, Gravity has 5-6 songs that are fantastic and can hang with the rest of the post-reunion discography, but the rest is just fine. Overall, it's a very solid...7th....? album

They should have just made one album instead of making both Coming Home and Gravity. Each is about half great.

tbh, i found Gravity very forgettable unfortunately
like, at least Coming Home had a few songs that i still spin but i deadass forget about Gravity constantly

tho i feel for AJ being the sole member now- i miss Bryan and Tyler lol
