Where were you... is so sloppy, like it sounds off time for the intro riff, and should have added something different in the chorus out of the bridge to really soar That being said, I think this might be my favorite TDS song. It makes me feel some type of way Full disclosure: I don’t hAve the same connection to the old albums as everyone here
In addition to getting AVA vibes from the new song, the way he sings “Where were you when the sky opened up” reminds me of “Are you afraid of being alone” in I’m Lost Without You
Been listening to the new song a lot the last few days...I'm ready for the new direction. Show me what you got TDS!
Hey guys, My new song "Never Be" (Featuring AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer) was just released yesterday!! Im so grateful for all the new and kind words about the song, I wrote it from my heart. I'll answer any questions anyone has about the song. AJ was the nicest guy ever and was so open minded to doing the track.
Happy Birthday to the record that changed everything for me. 19 year old me (and 29 year old me) still needs this record. “Well I was dying to leave this place I know. Traded it in for something I can relate to. I'll find out who I really am. It takes some time, but maybe that's okay, yeah. Trying to make my way past hope. Do what I can with everything that I've been through. I'll take my chances to live again.”
I parachute alone I'm a life that's not worth saving It's apparent I won't slow down yet I take control of that feeling you don't care to believe in I'm blind, but I'm still leading I'm finding that modern healing is sold in the dark for some of us Hold my hands out like I'm starting to break I'm seeing now what I'm doing to the people around me I'm not supposed to care this much And I ask myself yeah, who am I? Well, to anything, have I lost my health? I still harbor all my anger I've been staring at the colors in my veins How they stay How I still feel I'm tired, but awake And somewhere out there there is someone Thinking of what I haven't gave them yet And feeling that I can't in my disarray ^^Love that
It's amazing how even just reading lyrical snippets from this record transports me back to that summer entirely.
their best record IMO I have so much nostalgia for when I'd blast War Paint in my parent's car with the windows down, feeling every word ring true
Reach for the Sun and War Paint are about as even for me as my favorite records from any band ever. They're both perfect, and both came along at extremely important times in my life.
Would totally get that, they’re both absolutely spectacular and touching records. I never got into the band (outside of RFTS) until their hiatus, and while I adore both, War Paint’s more sonic diversity hits a tad bit more than RFTS. But both *should* have been formative if I listened more diligently at the time of their release
