I actually think I like war paint the best but the delay in lp 1 is legit city. I've really grown to dislike golden over time
Ordered that repress. War Paint is easily my favourite so this is great. I have the original too but maybe I'll give it as a present to my best friend.
Looks like they are recording with Aaron Marsh...I tweeted at him asking and he liked it...for whatever that's worth EDIT: They are not. Aaron just responded today saying "I wish"
They literally said they are recording with James Paul Wisner in their reunion announcement Edit: I'm wrong, it was an extra bit on a rock sound article about the reunion.
I have no idea what to expect from this but RFTS and War Paint are top of their class. Golden Record, on the other hand... (Sins is awesome tho.)
For those who missed The Gunz Show interview, here's a couple of highlights: 1. AJ seems to have had some self reflective time over the last few years and seems very grounded and content. He mentioned that the reunion started to come about in February. Dale Earnhardt seemed to have something to do with things as well; AJ said that they had similar experiences and that he learned a lot about perseverance and staying with it. Thus, the boys decided to push forward with their art. 2. He said they want to sort of "apologize" to fans by coming back with an album first rather than a tour. He alluded to all the shit with Cody being the driving reason why they feel that they owe something to their fans. 3. AJ said that he read what people were saying about TDS on message boards and that this informed him in the writing process. He stated it will be more upbeat without Cody because him, Matt and Ben are so positive. 4. That's the first time I've ever heard The Gunz Show before. Parks and Rec fans - this guy is basically "The Douche", right? He was talking over songs, literally dubbing himself singing over portions. Very strange show, but the interview was excellent.
i mean, the dude's show is called The Gunz Show, so... didn't he used to post on AP some? he seemed generally nice and upbeat, but yeah, some of his stuff always came across the way you described it.
Funny you should say that. AJ said that he looks up to Jesse Lacey and Stephan Jenkins as inspirations. As a huge fan of both Brand New and Third Eye Blind, my god I don't think I can handle another band like this. I want to get off Jesse Lacey's Wild Ride.
Well, considering at this rate we're probably going to get TDS LP5 before Brand New LP5, I don't know how much he actually looks up to Jesse haha
That interview (or the summary of it) has me so hyped. A more positive record like the first two, with those spacey guitars and a return of AJ's more melodic vocals? Absolutely count me the hell in. So ready for this. Hope they play a show in London sometime next year so I can lose my shit (And I hope they play Parachute).
Since Brand New released an album The Dangerous Summer have released two albums, plus an acoustic album, broken up, vowed to never speak to each other again, had a member delete their social media and then get chucked into jail. Then got back together after months of hinting, wrote an album, are currently recording it, and will presumably release it too.
Hell yes. I actually heard TDS the first time through the 3EB messageboards. I remember before RFTS came out AJ mentioned that he wanted to write more "timeless" songs like 3EB. HAHA. To be fair, I really like Mene and I Am a Nightmare.
