Yeah, not a big deal in my book. Dude is actually humbling himself for once. AJ has been hinting at a reunion for months now-- even outright said there's some TDS news coming. Other former band members made their comments about the reunion. It'd take someone completely oblivious to not know there's new material coming.

 

if you glance at AJ's facebook wall, there are a lot of oblivious people seemingly learning about this for the first time

 

A new TDS album this time of year going into the fall would be great.

I'd assume it's a ways away. I dont think they've even been in a studio yet to record. Everything AJ is sharing is in the demo phase yet.

 

Part of me feels like this new stuff will either be poppy like RFTS/WP or they are going in a completely different direction than all three albums.

 

Cody Payne is a piece of shit and I'm so glad he's not going to be involved. Fuck him. Stoked about new TDS music.

Anyone can toss a delay on a basic riff, they'll be fine. Matt was in the graduate, go listen to that shit and you'll realize they'll be better than ever.

 

Was Matt on Golden Record? If so, I was not that impressed. I thought those guitar tones were horrendous compared to what Brian Czap brought. And Cody isn't a very accomplished guitar player himself. Dude just down strums like 90% of the time haha. They lost that signature guitar tone and delay mix as soon as Brian left the band, unfortunately. Into The Comfort was the only song that came close to the signature TDS delay riffs.

 

cody was taking lead on golden record, it is not at all indicative of what matt's playing is really like

 

honestly with matt at the helm the delay may come back

 

I wish golden record sounded more like the graduate. But I wish everything sounded more like the graduate

 

FWIW, aj recently posted somewhere (tweet maybe?) that he was going to be spending most of july in florida. The vanguard room is one of the few accounts they follow on IG. Recording w/ Aaron? Also, fairly recently AJ tweeted or retweeted this:
