Yeah hopefully it's sincere and he's turning into less of an asshole.

 

For Cody's sake, hopefully his (seemingly brief) jail stint has forced him to take a good look in the mirror.

At the same time, there's still a bit of narcissism here. Yes it's all but officially announced they're back together, but I can't help but feel the timing of his statement could have waited until whenever the rest of the band acknowledges their return.

I don't know if that's a "total douche move." The band is teasing their return more and more actively and he's probably getting constant questions about whether or not he is involved or whether or not he'd want to rejoin or whether he's been asked to rejoin, etc. etc. Especially if this was just a post on his own personal Facebook page, I don't see why anyone would be mad about it.

 

People always find something to complain about.

 

Seems pertinent that the only thing you can see on their twitter feed is a retweet of this tweet from 2013

 

Did Cody write all of the music ? Interested to hear how different they sound without him

man, i'm really interested in hearing how they're gonna sound.
AJ, Ben Cato, and Matt Kennedy being the core group making new TDS music (I'm assuming)

i always know AJ's writing/lyricism will be on point, but musically i'm interested in seeing where they are

I just don't want to a repeat of Golden Record. Its not a bad album by any means, but I just never got into it like I did the first two. Aside from a few songs, the album was very bleh to me. I enjoyed the lyrics, but musically it was subpar, imo

I have to agree that Golden Record isn't their best work, but it still has a handful of my favourite TDS songs. The vocals were the weakness for me.

i back what @AlwaysEvolving21 mentioned earlier tho; musically, GR was kind of a chore to get through. there were high points, sure, but the tracks didn't stand out like their previous work. i quite miss what Czap and Minsburg added to the band

 

i thought Golden Record was pretty good musically, more exciting than War Paint honestly, but the vocals are just... not what i like.

 

Yeah Golden Record had some good stuff, but the "meh" stuff overruled the entire album.

I'm very interested to hear the vocals on the next album.

 

I like Aj's poppier stuff. Definitely prefer the RFTS and War Paint style.

 

so why not wait until the band makes the announcement instead of making it for them? seems selfish. it's obviously coming soon.

 

It's his personal Facebook. It looks from the screenshot that it was set to his friends only. Can we not start policing band members' personal pages and treating personal posts as public announcements?

 

it's his personal page in which he's friends with tons of people he doesn't know personally and only added him because he was a member of TDS.

i don't care either way, but given this guys past and his use of social media previously this in no way surprises me.

 

and it's not just his personal page.

 

I mean, it was pretty obvious they're coming back. I'd rather know right away whether or not Cody is involved, so I see nothing wrong with this.
