lol I heard it about 3-4 years after it came out, and it just didn't resonate with me the way that Warpaint did. So maybe it could've been something like that, where people have a more personal connection to an album, but you had to be there in that time (09?) Idk. It's not a bad album, just my least favorite and the one spun the least @Craig Manning my three favorites would be Where I Want to Be, Weathered, and The Permanent Rain
Ha, well like I said a few posts back, I'm sure I wouldn't love it the way I do if it had come along at literally any other time in my life. But I'm surprised you like War Paint and don't really care for Reach for the Sun. I find those albums to be pretty similar in terms of sound, themes, and overall appeal.
Also, here's that re-press! Reach For The Sun Black With Yellow/Orange Splatter : HLR0 : Hopeless Records
i have to be honest, any opinion other than the first and last song being the best on RFTS i can't imagine. never feel alone stands miles above the rest of the album
i hope the audio quality is better on this repress than the one i currently have. it's so noticeably quiet. i just gotta question which one i wanna get (and also i gotta pick up that repress of Yellowcard's WYTTSY)
Doubt it, aren't pressings from Hopeless Records usually trash? (Still salty about The Greatest Generation)
unpopular opinion: I've never really liked work in progress. TDS' strength is in their ability to do bittersweet, not straight bitter. but i get that a lot of people love that
Yeah, I've grown to like it over the last 5 years, but for a while it was my least favorite song on warpaint. It runs a bit too long as well.
Picked up that RFTS pressing, hope that WP gets a new one too I can sell my plain black pressing. God I love this band.
i think i can safely say War Paint is my favorite. not just my favorite TDS record, but one of (if not my absolute) favorite albums of all time. I Should Leave Right Now is just overwhelmingly meaningful and sentimental to me; it holds so much value to my life now and still brings back feelings from 5 years ago when i first heard it. my problems and situations have changed but that song still makes me so emotional. probably my ONE flaw with the record; i like/love Work In Progress, but i truly think it's sequenced wrong. i don't think it should be the second track on this album.
