pop-rock so much in the sense that they're treading in the genre waters paved by groups like JEW pop-rock is a broad enough catch all term regardless genre distinctions are largely meaningless lol
Yeah it just wasn't a very hooky record to me. Vocally driven with a lot of hooks is how I view most pop. But you're right, no sense in trying to define it anyway.
Anyone else get any Bush vibes? Sometimes AJ’s vocal delivery and vocal melodies screams Bush...at least for me.
the comparison that I get from their stuff from Golden Record onward is weirdly (?) enough Kings of Leon but like a much better version of that sound to be clear
He has played glycerine covers before. And he's said 3eb, kings of Leon, the national, and tswift influenced him.
their closest musical relatives that came before them are definitely third eye blind and jimmy eat world
Doubtful. Dan, the drummer, plays in Panic and Brendan, the guitarist, directs music videos for Fall Out Boy.
Valium is such a jam. Can't wait to see them at soundstage next week. Never would have thought I'd see them play again much less 3 times in 2017-2018 Edit: tomorrow not next week
Just an observation, but I’ve heard great lead singer mention London like 2-3 separate times just between golden record and this one. London is awesome, but didn’t know he if has a special connection or anything.
