One more solid release under their belt and it's definitely the most "solid" version of the group lol
I mean there is no real way to argue otherwise. This is coming from someone who is not nearly as in love with MN as most of you are. I think the "best" version of the band was the first two releases, but in terms of stability, clear dedication and direction, etc. it is now. He is clearly motivated beyond belief right now and they are working their asses off.
The self-titled album was a great comeback. Mother Nature was spectacular, arguably their best yet. I’ve seen them 3 times since 2018 and each show was awesome. Gonna say 2018-2020 has been wildly rewarding for fans of this band, and this doesn’t include the forthcoming EP which will only make it way better.
This is one of this instances where I'm legit jealous I can't feel that type of excitement regarding that release and their current state, but I'm glad it seemed to bring more fans into the fold.
If you combined the highs from the two albums post reunion, you’d easily have the best album of their discography.
I'll try it out for shits and giggles, but I just can't fathom enjoying anything this band does more than War Paint. If you made like 15 Infinites, maybe lol
Yeah I have a few friends who never listened to them 8-10 years back when I was raving about RFTS and then War Paint, but then these 2 albums got them on board!
Has anyone noticed when shuffling songs of Dangerous Summer on spotify or even on my Ipod how much quieter their self titled album is from 2018? It's like quite a bit quieter. Even more than RFTS and their first EP. Which is strange lol. Its almost like whoever mastered it didnt crank it quite enough. When listening on its own tho you wouldn't notice of course
Played my Mother Nature vinyl tonight for the first time in a while. Damn, this really is an amazing album. Listening through brought back all the memories of when the album cycle first began. I loved how everyone was so hyped on Starting Over/Slow Down but didn't wanna spoil it for those who hadn't heard the leak yet, so we just referred to the change up as "that thing."
I honestly didn't get into them until self titled. I remember back in 2011 everyone on AP.net was going nuts for War Paint. I watched the music video and thought it was great, but I was so busy with school/life that I just forgot to check them out further. Fast forward 9 years and now they're my favorite band!
Span this today whilst on a drive. Too good. Literally isn't a song I skip on it. My band have a list of bands we'd want to one day open for and these guys are up there for us. They are always proper great when they come to the UK and they always chat with us and hang out like at 2000 Trees festival last year.
Is "new single Fuck Them All Out Now" a typo at the top of the website it directs to? I thought it was to be released like july 10 or something? @ajperdomo
Damn, Golden Record and RFTS vinyls are both sold out already. Those were the only two I still needed to complete my TDS collection. Here's to hoping they have cool bundles for when they announce the EP.
AJ said on a podcast he doesn't normally like to do covers, but was cool to hear this little snippet he posted today https://instagram.com/stories/ajperdomo/2340190107862141738?igshid=b7ibvc309zgj
So whats everyone's personal ranking of the Album/EPs? I know most seem to have their first 2 as 1 and 2, so mine will seem like a slight hot take 1. Reach for the Sun 2. Golden Record 3. If you could only keep me alive 4. Reach for the Sun Acoustic 5. Mother Nature 6. War Paint 7. The Dangerous Summer Golden Record was my introduction so that is how I identify the bands sound. And I really really love Reach for the Sun acoustic release. Listen to it more than the regular at times. I do really like Self titled its just the other releases are so strong . And As we know,. Mother Nature is so so great
1. RFTS / War Paint / Mother Nature 2. The Dangerous Summer 15. Golden Record I know this ranking is useless with a 3 way tie, but I honestly am having such a hard time ranking those. It speaks volumes to how well RFTS & War Paint hold up, as well as how good Mother Nature still is a year later.
