no idea what "at your local Knights of Columbus or Elks" would mean, lol. Not that I am part of the conversation, but that made me question things
It’s like a glorified first floor pool hall without pool tables lol plus a rug. A place you get your first trophy for peewee soccer
In fact! Im running a comedy night/local band showcase benefit tomorrow night to raise money for my youth Swimteam and the room is almost identical
Yo that show was great! Got the tour poster plus the set list. Really great to see the Mother Nature songs getting a solid reaction. Way Down is fucking awesome live.
They were great tonight. Feel like I got super lucky lol. We moved back after RFTS but they performed the new stuff well, even if I’m not a massive fan.
Probably still going to be third for me, but that's because their first two are all-time favorites of mine.
I think this is easily their best album. I also think the last two albums were terrible and the first two are OK at best, so what do I know.
RFTS saved my life but War Paint top to bottom is one of my all time favorite records. It’s a hot take but I still prefer the last record to this record (if only on the merit of three of my favorite songs off it)
Spicy take time: Mother Nature > RTFS > War Paint > Golden Record > S/T Mother Nature is just too damn good. RTFS has huge nostalgia factor, but can't top Mother Nature objectively. War Paint would be near the top if the drums were as interesting as the rest of the band's catalog, but I know I'm kind of alone in my War Paint drumming complaints. I love Golden Record a little more than most people, and the S/T is half absolute bangers and half eh.
I only got into this band with Mother Nature. Where it can't quite compete with Reach for the Sun is that its quality dips in the second half whereas RFTS is ultra consistent. War Paint is third for mine, but No One's Gonna Need You More and Everyone Left are two of their top three songs (with Starting Over/Slow Down at number one imo).
I also got into this band with MN and it jockeys with war paint for 1st. I think both are pretty clear steps up over the others.
This album just isn’t grabbing me the way their first two continue to all these years later. It’s still great and easily third best for me. Also, I know it’s been said, but AJ’s health and life choices are concerning based on social media.
People really need to stop making wild comments about AJ's personal life choices. It's honestly none of any of your business, and it doesn't seem like he's harming anyone so it feels a bit wild to be going on about it.
I mean, when you post it on social media, it kind of becomes everyone’s business. People are allowed to be concerned.
