I was thinking the whole way up there that I needed to get lyrics on the poster. I already have symmetry lyrics on my wall. Everything that came to mind i wanted handwritten was lyrics to later albums. Surfaced played and I was hit with a light bulb.
Anyone know why they keep switching the show locations? They just switched the Anaheim show to a different venue
I'd guess they're going to smaller venues, but who knows. I thought it was interesting that in NYC this tour is at a venue 3 times the size of the venue the Mother Nature tour came to. I hope it fills up.
They briefly touch on the contract situation in this new interview (Hopeless was putting one together but TBD whether they go with them or look elsewhere) but AJ mentions he’d love to do another album. maybe they’ll make it 3 straight next year Exclusive: Life is Good for The Dangerous Summer - 100.7 Ferndale Radio
For those who have gone to the RFTS tour so far: what have set times looked like? Our show tonight starts at 7 and has 3 openers but since I’m coming from work I want to make sure I give myself enough time to get there.
Lucky. Ours. the acoustic songs were at 645. We had 3 openers. First one went on at 730. Then 8. Then 840? Tds didn't start til 915.
I fully expected them to go on at 9 so didn’t plan to leave the house until 8. And I just so happened to see AJs Instagram story with the set times as I was leaving. Felt like such a dumbass
This is tonight. I'm hoping they bring at least their C+ game. Hopefully he has a stomach ache early in the day and can't get too shitted before the show.
For what it’s worth I thought he sounded incredible in Austin and was super lucid. He always plans on getting fucked up here (even talked about the molly he was about to take like 10x during the set) because he has a weird fixation with Austin, but he really nailed the set. The band also sounded good and tight, probably the best I’ve seen them since at least the war paint days.
He's like the kid in HS that still thinks hes cool cause he does and talks about doing drugs lol How's his voice holding up? I think this is the tail end of the tour?
A few songs were tuned down (more noticeable during the Mother Nature part of the set) but I thought his voice was fine. Not doing war paint / golden record songs seems to be helping because at no point it sounded blown. I went in expecting a regular sloppy TDS set carried by the nostalgia of the record and was definitely impressed by how cleaned up it all sounded. Matt also sounded really clean with his backing vocals.
Saw them in Atlanta he wasn't as bombed as last time. Actually sounded good and voice held up good, it was a Monday so maybe they were taking it easy. I was actually was super impressed with Arms Akimbo check em out!
I'll be there as well. Set times remain a mystery for now.... This venue is the definition of barely acceptable haha.
Oh for real? I've never been. Actually dreading heading out to Somerville in general. Parking is going to blow and the weather is shit.
I feel that. It's in sort of an awkward spot, a long Uber ride for me or 20 min walk from the T. If you need food/drinks ahead of time, the Highland Kitchen right across the street is legit one of my fav hidden gem spots in Boston. Not confirmed, so don't base everything off this as it seems a little late, but someone posted that TDS goes on at 9:50pm.
Yeah i saw 9:50 tonight as well from the FB group. This venue is literally if you put a small stage at your local Knights of Columbus or Elks and like a thousand degrees with no ventilation. Curious how it’ll be now that it’s colder out. I literally like this venue for the sole purpose it isn’t in Boston. So if you find parking you can walk outta the venue and drive home which is not common lol. BUT see y’all there!!
Got the last spot across the venue. Steak tips at highland kitchen were worth the trip alone. Bought mad merch and walked it right to the car. This is a basement show lol it’s been years!
