Agreed... he digs real deep. I’ve always found a way to deeply relate to his stuff. And the emotion he puts into the songs and vocals just sells it even more... it’s crazy.
As someone who discovered the band with this album and has since invested a lot of time in RFTS and War Paint I'll say all three are fantastic. I'd probably rank Mother Nature just above War Paint, and RFTS at the top. But I prefer the grittier vocals on the new record, and like that it is a well-executed change of pace from those more pop-punk/emo sounding revered early records. Starting Over/Slow Down is their best song imo. Seeing them in December, cannot wait.
Mother Nature is really resonating right now... Moved to where I am now a few years ago, life happened, and now I just feel disconnected... it’s like I just want to get back home to the people and things that make me happy. Music is powerful man, it just like seeps right in to who you are... it’s wild. Feeling that now more than ever.
Hopefully it's tracks 2-7 inclusive, plus the title track. That would be a perfect seven-song album imo. Perfect.
Setlist from Pittsburgh according to my buddy All of RFTS (obviously) and the first six songs off of Mother Nature in order. Closing with Starting Over/Slow Down
Months later and Better Life is still my favourite song off the new album. Maybe because I'm a new dad but damn if isn't the perfect blend of emotions at a tidy 2:34. Such a perfect moment in the arc of the album too that makes Consequence of Living feel like a rebirth of sorts.
Weak from whiskey and powder, love You let me crawl out of bed I know you see me in better light I know you see who I am I still love how the windows paint your room That's a comfort I want too Tracin' the steps to where I fell in love with you
This current venue that closed initially opened when a different venue shut down, so yes haha. Pretty bummed, was going to see the Homesafe tour there too.
