Took a break, but revisited this album this morning and got a little worked up towards the end of Prologue when it crashes into Blind Ambition. Also, the title track might be my favorite song of the year right now. This is a really really exciting album.
I took a breather from the album and then revisited it and I am SO pumped the first thing the album reminded me of was driving to the beach.
Me hearing the start of Way Down by itself: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Me hearing the start of Way Down in the context of the album, after Blind Ambition and BMBTL:
Listening to mother nature while walking in North Hollywood Park. Just snapped this and it looks like the Reach for the sun cover a bit lol
So I had prioritised War Paint in my Dangerous Summer belated deep dive, chiefly because end of decade list season approaches. But the fact they are bringing the RFTS tour to Adelaide has encouraged me to dig into that one more. Really liking it. But after a dozen listens I couldn't pick my favourite songs. It's so consistent the whole way through!! Which songs do you guys like best from that one? And which are the 'classics' that would be played at most shows/seem to be the fan favourites?
Weathered and the title track really do it for me, but where I want to be and surfaced seem to be the fan favs
Obviously The Permanent Rain is THE song, but my other top favs are Northern Lights, Weathered, and Never Feel Alone.
This was mentioned before but Symmetry was my favorite song for a solid 2-3 years. Totally agree that it's pretty dang consistent the whole way thru though.
Where I Want to Be, Northern Lights, and Never Feel Alone are my favorite songs on the record. Weathered and Symmetry round out the top five probably
The whole album is remarkably consistent. Mother Nature is still my aoty but my favourite six songs are tracks 2 through 7
Listening to this album in August gives me the same optimistic feeling I would have in my high school years when the school year was just beginning.
