You’d be surprised at how much I look up music I already own and play it on YouTube, as I browse other sites... not that one person matters or anything... But a friend of mine was talking about how he can’t play older TDS material on his streaming service (forgot which one it was) and he was actually pretty pissed about it lol. Idk...
Nice!! When it kicks in is there 2 snares? I noticed some distortion or dual snare effect. Maybe it just was recorded really hot for that section
As you know that's where Oasis were spotted and signed (king tuts) I'm a huge oasis fan. Also Glasvegas as well
Apple fixed the issue in the iOS 13 beta that caused there to be some silence in between tracks in albums with gapless playback. It made listening to this infuriatingly frustrating lol but now that it’s fixed I’ll be jamming it again.
Yeeeeah I can’t get into this, even after multiple tries. There’s some good songs though, and it’s definitely a great record for the band, but I’ve never been a fan of them, and this didn’t change my opinion really.
I definitely like it more now than I did, but I also put it down for a couple of weeks so maybe that helped.
this has had a ton of staying power for me, way more than the S/T. I've gone out of my way to listen to at least something off of this, if not the entire thing, every day since I first got the record in late May
Observation: the Drummer Ben plays slightly "behind" the beat. Especially on Golden record. Sins etc.. it's like sometimes hitting it right before the next measure if that makes sense. (Not really noticable on mother nature. Whereas the Drummer Tyler from reach for the sun and war paint plays almost ahead of the beat. Not rushing it or anything but pushing it forward in a different way. Love both!
I don’t think he ever joined the band, just played on the album since they were between drummers. From that point on I think they had a couple of touring drummers before Ben officially came in. I could be wrong on the touring drummers, but I believe Ben joined around golden record.
I can’t either. I love Reach For The Sun from start to finish, but only enjoy roughly half the songs on the albums that followed that one. I was kind of hoping/expecting this album to follow suit, but I got about halfway through it and didn’t like one of them. I need to go back and listen to the back half at some point though.
Revisited this yesterday for the first time in weeks and enjoyed it, but not as much as I did initially. The opening trio is massive, but it gets a little more hit or miss for me from there.
