I think Valium is a good example of when I like his more aggressive vocals. It fits the music. I don't really think it does on this one.
The new song reminds me of The Starting Line instrumentally. But yeah I wish he didn’t yell the entire thing. I mean, I’ve definitely heard much worse and I’m still happy to have TDS back. Still think they’ve got better in them though.
The vocals themselves are fine (except the bridge, I wish they would've gotten a guest vocalist for that, someone like Vinnie Caruana would've sounded cool doing that part) but something about the way they're produced along with the way the drums are produced makes it sound like there's this weird static/fuzz going on and that's what I find grating.
The first two are okay, but I’m not sure if I like them because they’re good covers or because those two albums are just really important to me.
New song is okay. Still think I'll find enough in the album to enjoy. AJ has such good voice and writes so well that the yelling just never hit the highs of a good line with a solid melody from him. Also, whatever happened to Mr. Payne?
This is mildly off topic but I was listening to the self titled the other day and while I still enjoy that record a ton I was just wondering, does anyone else think that the record, the guitars specifically, sound *slightly* out of tune almost the whole time?
okay my first listen to this song and y'all made it seem like his vocals were way worse/harsher than they actually are, lol. he sounds fine.
video is very early 2000s Fuse TV to me lol I like this enough. not a fan of the vocals really but that's just kind of where I'm at with this band anyway EDIT: Actually liked it a lot more on second listen and I remembered that I really really liked the other song so maybe idk where I am with this band after all lol
0/2 for me so far. Still not giving up because I wasn’t crazy about Fire originally and ended up loving the last record, but I don’t think I love the new direction.
Great to hear. Even though I'm not entirely stoked on this particular song, I'm still excited for the whole thing.
Are the two singles pretty representative of the album? The new single keeps growing on me, so I’m hyped.
