Holy shit, I was trying to think of what the instrumentation reminded me of yesterday... Go Radio is exactly it.
I really love Bring Me Back to Life in the flow of the album much more than as a stand alone single. This album is great.
Looks like people already answered this for you, but yes. I honestly never liked anything from this band besides Clairvoyant, but this new album has been a constant listen for me in the last few months. Take Me As You Please is definitely the highlight for me.
prologue/blind ambition might be the most powerful moment in their discog and perfectly sets the tone thematically for the rest of the album.
i checked it out late last night and was impressed but not necessarily blown away, will be giving it multiple listens
Now I’m sad they are only playing 3 new songs. After a listen and a halfish highlights are prologue/blind ambition, bring me back to life, starting over/slow down, it is real, better light. This is a really good album front to back. I think war paint will stay my favorite on the strength of the first half but this might be better as a whole.
After three listens my top 3 are Starting Over/Slowing Down Violets Red Virginia This album is absolutely wonderful. I love how the drums, AJ’s controlled vocal melodies, and his bass lines all drive the songs.
Listened through it twice now and wow. It's so different, it's so The Dangerous summer, it's so so good! Beautiful. I just shifted between crying and grining on the bus home from work. It feels like the first time I heard rfts and war paint.
Has not made it to the last three songs even. I wanna hear them in context of the album and had to stop listen both times by the title track.
I wish “where were you...” wasn’t a single. Would have been way more impactful after Starting Over Most underrated song on here imo
I think Where Were You is the perfect single for this album, but I agree in the sense that it fits really well in the sequencing and it’ll take some time to recalibrate my ears to hear it in context and not as a stand-alone song, if that makes sense
All of these positive reviews are killing me. Had to cancel my preorder due to being let go at my job, but have to find a way to buy this again. Seems to be the ideal album to get me out of this funk.
Cool to see everyone so hype on this, just grabbed it. I'll have to go back and listen through their discography.
This is the kind of jump I’ve been wanting bands like The Wonder Years to make for a while, but I think we underestimate how hard it is to pull this off without growing pains. Makes it pretty amazing when bands like this really nail it
