i got into them in 2010 so the war paint cycle was when i was first paying attention, the hype for that album was something special too. once they dropped work in progress i think we all knew it was game over.
This is so impressive, AJ's style of vocals and lyric writing bring back older TDS albums but instrumentally and on a songwriting level it's like they've completely reinvented themselves
BLIND AMBITION WHAT THE HELL YES This is everything good about their self titled tied into 4 minutes of pure greatness.
i feel like theres a much more subdued vibe here than there was on s/t which makes the big moments have much bigger pay offs
I remember listening to RTFS on AP.net with a few when it first came out and this brings back those same feelings. Band just cemented itself firmly in my person Hall of Fame
I definitely overplayed Where Were You, gonna be some time before I feel out how this fits in context
i keep thinking i found the best song on the album but the next song starts. so far mother nature is the best song here
Yeah all the singles sound wayyyy better than the Apple Music versions I've been listening, idk what's up with that
wow that song was not what i was expecting. good for them for doing that. effective penultimate track for sure
Virginia gets up there, but at the right moments it needs to. Also, Virginia reminds me of Bush and I love it.
Did they really just write a second classic album? This thing is unreal already and it's just my first listen. Long after we all thought they were dead and gone. Their spotify numbers are booming. They may just make it after all. Awesome.
Starting Over/Slow Down could have easily ended ... but oh no it didn’t. Because this band fucking goes for it.
