I'm not feeling the Broken Glowsticks song at all, same with Come Down. There not bad, just didn't grab me like most TDS catalog. Not at all what I was expecting when i heard they were working with Aaron haha. They've set the bar too high with Mother Nature.
Dang, That Broken Glowsticks song is like a mid to late 1990's gem. Not hating at all, but I could totally see this on VH1 if it was still around. The video made me think of that VH1 era with all the walking on the beach and singing on the rocks. I like the song.
Fuck Them All is one of my faves of the year, pretty sure 100+ of those Spotify plays are from me alone I do wish AJ varied his vocals a bit more though, Dancing On My Own is nice but after 30 seconds you already know every note he’s going to hit
the idea of a music label for them to put out TDS music and each of their side projects is really exciting to see. we're gonna get so much good music and from an artistic standpoint you just know its going to be a healthy situation for them as collaborators to have their own outlets for ideas that might not fit what they want to do with TDS, or if one of them isn't feeling an idea the other has they can just put it aside for their own project, etc. considering the turmoil this band has been through its a relief to see them in a position like this. especially when its just AJ and matt, two people who have always seemed like theyre in this for all the right reasons. plus, i think the way forward for bands following the pandemic and the ever changing music industry is absolutely turning your band into a community which seems like their goal here.
I like the idea of releasing music to a wide audience instead of the bands releasing a song to select audience on a Patreon kind of thing. Maybe that’s because AJ is in charge of his label/release process. Come Down has also been my favourite of the 3 so far (between the two projects). It feels like we’re building an album(s) or a big playlist or something.
Absolutely love the Broken Glowstick song. It bothers me that on youtube they are Broken Glowstick, but on spotify it's Broken Glowsticks. Which one is it? lol
Just speaking from experience, this is where they might want to enlist a producer and why I think they should. They’re both ambitious and that could easily turn into never being satisfied enough. It’s nice to have that 3rd party tell you when it’s good enough.
All vinyl orders from their merch store will be autographed from now till Monday. Might finally pull the trigger on Golden Record.
I LOVE that Broken Glowsticks song. I am full behind anything these guys do right now. Give me all the music and I will buy it on vinyl if it's available.
