Those three are all top ~10 TDS songs for me. I won't revisit the rest of the album much, but I LOVE those three songs.
These 3 songs hit me today like a ton of bricks listening to them for the first time. Wtf. Didn’t expect that. Felt a bit like experiencing Reach for the Sun the first time way back when. Didn’t listen to the last album aside from the 1st song released. Didn’t like Golden Record in the slightest. I. Am. Ready. For. This.
I didn't know they had a new album coming, from a quick scroll of this page it sounds like the album is better than the last? Maybe I'll give them a try again if so
I'm in a weird place with these singles. I think the instrumentation and musicianship on these songs are the best TDS has ever sounded, easily. The arrangements, the guitar tone, the mixing; it's completely full and everything I've ever wanted from this band. However, I just can't get behind anything about the vocals. The melodies, the delivery, or the lyrics; I simply don't enjoy any of it. I keep searching for a part of a song that is going to earworm its way into my head, and I keep coming up empty. I'm going to wait until the full album drops and give it a listen or two and reevaluate from there, but I might be out for now.
I've been down in the dumps this last week, and TDS has really been connecting with me. Especially Reach for the Sun, I feel like every song has a lyric that's speaking to what I'm going through. Bring Me Back to Life has been on repeat. I immediately preordered the vinyl when I heard it (and ordered War Paint on vinyl too). Still contemplating getting a ticket and going by myself to their show next month.
Yeah, similar situation to me. I’m probably gonna go to their Anaheim show by myself, I really want to finally see them.
I think this will be the case for a lot of people with this album. It's going to speak to a lot of people and be special/important to them.
the last album never did it for me but Fire was a great single, probably better than these songs besides maybe the one released today, but I actually like them all now that I’ve let them grow
I am definitely in the minority here, but their last album is my least favorite of the 4 released thus far.
Their last album is by far the weakest, which is a bummer because the first three tracks on it are an amazing opening stretch
I think I still like the last one more than Golden Record. Golden Record has higher highs, but is tonally all over the place and is incoherently sequenced.
Just based on what I've seen on here that self-titled was getting a lot of love. Maybe an over-generalization on my part re: minority opinion. I have really tried getting into that album and just can't.
