Yeah! You added all six LPs to your cart and the promo was applied at checkout. Hopefully they get some more pressed and up soon.
Stoked that Brian is going to do some solo stuff. Have Mercy ending is a bummer, but I'm happy he's still making music. Have Mercy was basically a solo project anyways since the entire band sans Brian left a few years ago
Not sure if you've been following the have mercy IG he put up a story yesterday or the day before that just said "I want to play shows in 2021" actually think I got a screenshot.. ill attach it.. not sure if he means solo or have mercy tho
Nice!! Wonder of that means fuck them all will have a different mix for album. Maybe not. Maybe that was the first one completed by him. Its all exciting
A while back AJ shared this cover of Where I want to be.. ive returned to it a bunch of times.. it somehow always will be the song that sums up dangerous summer for me.. love this snippet
Way more than that I'd think. A typical wedding band costs like 9k. Factor in that TDS is an established recording artist and AJ had to fly in for it. But I'd guess because it was a short set and only acoustic that their cost is probably around in the 6-8k range. Seeing IG stories from the wedding it looked like the whole thing probably cost a pretty penny. But also I have no clue lol
Wedding bands cost 9,000 dollars? Are you sure about that lol I'm not well versed but that sounds pretty high to me
Won’t name the band/artist but they aren’t much bigger than TDS but the rate I was given at the time was $12k lol
I understand for a band with a name like TDS being expensive. But for a local band tho I'd be surprised if it was 10k.
I don’t think the booking fee would be super expensive but lodging / travel is where these one off private gigs usually get pricy.
For sure but I think Matt from TDS lives in Denver. Where the wedding was. but yeah they did fly in a.j etc
I'm not even married so what do I know lol. But from what I hear from all my friends/sisters who had to plan weddings, a bare boned band that doesn't have a reputation on the wedding circuit would cost like 5k, and if you wanted a bigger band (like an 8 piece band) you're looking at 9k. I also live in Manhattan which is like the most expensive city in the country, so maybe it's cheaper outside of NYC?
Me and my partner aren’t even officially engaged yet but we’ve already started to plan things for the wedding because it’s so fucking expensive. Though we have decided that we’re just going to get a plain white sheet cake from BJs and have one of our artsy friends decorate it. There’s a good chunk of change saved right there!
And those cost a fucking shit ton of money too! I forgot all the quotes was we got, but I think the lowest we got was around 2k for setup/4 hours/equipment? (We ended up using an iPod Touch and I made the playlist and Hannah's uncle had equipment to MC/hook it all up. Used some of the saved money for the string quartet.)
Yeah, definitely took some shortcuts for the music at my wedding. Hired my childhood piano teacher to play during dinner music, then we used his sound equipment to play the playlist I'd made for dancing. So, so much cheaper than hiring a DJ. Also, I have never been to a wedding where I thought, "Oh yeah, this DJ is good at their job."
To be fair I’ve been to so many weddings where I’ve said this dj fucking sucks and is killing the vibe
